MIXED
I visited Florence and Rome in Summer 1995. This was in the early stages of my illness, before I got the flu that pushed me into full-fledged CFS.
I liked Florence a lot and felt good there. I was staying in a small, old hotel. (4-GOOD)
I went to Rome on a day trip, visiting the Vatican and walking around the city. I got very irritable and got into a big argument with my companion for no reason on this trip. It took me several days to feel like I recovered. (1-AWFUL)

I visited Florence last fall and despite the fact that I stayed at a hotel on a busy street in the city centre I felt quite good. Managed to walk around the city for several hours without getting sick and tired afterwards at all. I've been sick for more than 11 years so I know all the symptoms by now and one thing I notice quickly when I'm at a good location is that my eyes looks more "awake" and brighter and less red than usual. I guess it's a sign of the amount of inflammation in the body.
This improvement happened in Florence. The eyes got brighter which makes me look a lot healthier. I was only there for four days, would be interesting to see the improvement if I stay longer.
Florence: 6/10
