I am just beginning to explore the role of mold in CFS in my particular case. When I described the coughing I was experiencing in the basement of my apartment and some other environments, my doctor sent me in for some skin allergy testing. They completed testing yesterday for the first 6 molds, of the 23 they can test for, yesterday. I was allergic to 6 out of 6. I have spent most of the day in bed.....if nothing else, this is confirming that mold really is playing an important role in my illness. The doctor is proposing allergy shots....I am wondering what people's thoughts are on this as an effective tool to recovering from CFS, or at least to recovering from the mold piece of the puzzle.

Hi Christina. Good luck in your journey. In the beginning I too had positive allergies testing fo mold. As my illness progressed, I tried allergy shots. Because it wasn't "allergies" I became deathly ill every night after the shots. I would find myself outside at 2 a.m. Feeling as if I'd been poisoned. I stopped the shots. They never helped. I Saw three allergists in the beginning. None had a clue about mold illness. About 2 years later I saw an Environmental MD who diagnosed me correctly. Good luck to you. Keep researching! Knowledge is power. Persistent
