I started to experience health problems (fatigue, cognitive issues, mood problems) in 1994, when I was working on my doctorate.
My illness turned into classic ME/CFS in 1996. By 2007, I was in bed 18-22 hours a day and fading very fast.
I also qualify for Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease and Mold Illness (CIRS) diagnoses. I used to have MCS, but that has now gone away.
I was born in Cincinnati in 1964, and then lived in a rural area outside of Indianapolis from age 9-18.
I moved to Chicago in 1982 for college and lived there throughout my adult life.
In late 2007, I realized that I had a toxic mold problem in my house. I have been pursuing "extreme avoidance" since 2009, living in an RV and traveling around to different locations in the U.S.
I'm generally almost wholly well now, as long as I remain in good locations. My ability to tolerate a broader range of locations has improved over the last three years as well.
A map of my travels (color coded by how I felt) is here.
