Paul, with the huge amount of power being generated at Iguazu Falls, along with the proximity to high voltage lines, do you think that
negative ions could have been responsible for your feeling good there? Many tests have shown that negative ions make people feel more relaxed and happier, while positive ions have the opposite effect.
There are devices on the market which generate negative ions, but
I've never tried them out.

I know things help some people more than others sometimes. I
shelled out $100 a few years ago for an ionizer hoping for some big results. Didn't really feel much of any difference. I still have it and keep it plugged in in the bedroom, just in case, but it was kind of a disappointment.

I ALWAYS feel better when i'm by the ocean, which i've been told is a
result of the negative ions. i also feel quite energized just prior
and during a thunderstorm. i always thought that was because of the
low pressure, however i was positively somnolent for 2 days prior to
each of our 4 hurricanes this year, and this continued until just
prior to the hurricane passing, so i think that blows the low
pressure theory for me; therefore, i wonder if it is the negative
ions that make me feel "lighter" and energized and sort of excited
just prior to an electrical storm.

I don`t recall being around a negative ion machine since getting the
illness. I tend to open windows during or after rain storms, and I
think I feel better, though not healthy.
I am not sure whether the ions are a factor at Iguazu. I would love
to study Iguazu more, as it does not fit my normal "good location"
perameters. It also is a very localized effect.
I stress that I was not well on the Argentinian side of the border,
though some people are. Even when I went to the falls on the Argie
side, I was not well. I crossed the border and stayed in the
Brazilian city of Foz do Iguacu. I was well there. That city is
farther from the falls, but closer to the dam and power plant.
