I used to be excellent - a "5"- within a day of arriving in Cuba. That was November 1998; November 1999 - January 2000; February 2000 - April 2000; September 2001; a month in approximately July 2004. As long as I slept when I needed to, I functioned as a I did pre-ME. Just as a healthy person, I didn't need to follow any special diet or protocol or avoidance to be well. In fact, I had a lot of refined sugar and rum and at times, stress. After being in "bad locations" for most of about 5 years, I no longer was well in Cuba or any other location, except for perhaps the first day or so. I was in Cuba in February - April 2008 and was only well the first couple of days.

I should add that I was in most parts of Cuba, including inland, and my health didn't vary by location within the island, or by the current temperature. One night in 1999, the temperature fell to 5C. The apartment was cold because there was only newspaper - no glass - in one window pane. I remained well.

A report: When I arrived in Cuba, my fogginess, depression and weakness would lift within as little as an hour. I could lead a more or less normal life. My wellness did not coincide with any type of eating, drinking, meds, activity, stress, hot weather. health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFS_CFIDS_ME/message/7057?l=1

A report from 2003: I've been to Spain (various parts and Portugal) in the winter for a week at a time. I've noticed no improvement in my health there. Also France. The best for me have been the Greek Islands, Thailand and Cuba. Kindest regards, Annette p.s. from New Zealand originally health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFS_CFIDS_ME/message/322?l=1

I felt good in Cuba. Spent a week in Camaguey and Havana and travelling between the two.
