A Moldie who tent camps regularly wrote me the following: If you own a Mac, or iPhone, there is fabulous software available. It is a map of the United States with a colored tack for every campground. Blue for national forests, red for state parks, grey for Army Corps, green for county and city parks, and orange for military (which are generally off limits). If you are on SSDI or are over 62, you should get a National Parks pass that gives you a steep discount on all National Forests and Army Corps. You can zoom in and out to areas, get "directions", coordinates for your GPS, websites, phone #'s, and often # of sites and whether water and electric, sewer, and altitude if relevant. Big Nerd Ranch makes the software and they are making a version for Android soon, I believe. itunes.apple.com/us/app/camp-where/id327934291?mt=8
